Cheap Ink
When we search through history we come across many barbaric and shocking incidents which sometimes make us emotionally upset when we read through it. One such traumatizing event is the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This incident took place in Amritsar on 13th April 1919. Three days before this incident (i.e) on 10th April, people of Punjab started to protest against the arrest of two popular leaders of the freedom movement. These people were fired cheap ink upon by a group of military officials. This firing set off a series of violence around the state. In order bring things under control the British government passed a martial law for Punjab on 13th April 1919, banning the gathering of more than four people. In the same day thousands of people gathered at Jallianwala Bagh to attend the religious function of the Sikhs and most of these people were not aware of the Martial law in place.
