Serena losing her temper

In the recently concluded U.S. Open semi-final between Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams ended in the most dramatic way possible. Kim Clijsters is making a comeback after a long layoff and Serena being the defending champion, everybody was expecting a cracking of a contest on cards. But it really turned out to be opposite of it. Once Serena lost her first set to her opponent by penalty point by the line umpire for stepping her foot outside the baseline during her serve, She grunted and banged her racket on ground that she broke it. The Referee warned her on the laws of sportsmanship, But when she lost her second set too on the line penalty she kind of used words against the umpire letting Clijsters to have an easy win. Conversation was still on after the penalty creating confusion on the ground. Clijsters was certainly disappointed with the win. Serena still had the heart to congratulate Clijsters after her loss amidst all the drama.

MICHAEL PHELPS AND USAIN BOLT – TRUE ENTERTAINERS

Two big names in the last year Olympics were that of Phelps and Bolt. These two are the most entertaining and the greatest athletes in modern times. Each holds supremacy in his sport respectively. While Phelps stunned the world with eight Olympic gold medals, Bolt set the tracks on fire re-writing the 100 meter world record comfortably. It’s sad that they do not compete in the same sport and we cannot watch them competing against each other. However these two men would break more records and would retire as one of the greatest legends in the modern day Olympic Games.

FINANCE AND SPORTS

Thinking big has always given great results. And one of the recent giant strides in the field of sports and finance was the introduction of Indian Premier League. The introduction of IPL has changed the face of cricket to such an extent that oldest form of cricket, that is, test cricket is finding it difficult to survive. Many players are opting to stay in the shorter form of the game as they get paid more. More people like twenty-twenty form as they could spend 3 hours in the evening with their families.

Many players have also shown their liking to the shorter form of the game as they are able to earn more in a short span of time. However IPL has opened up the Indian economy and now the people wonder how such large sums are invested by some actors and stars!!! The IPL might have been one of the reasons for the recession in India as large amounts of money gets accumulated in particular place.

Now several other countries are studying IPL and are preparing to launch similar type of extravaganzas in their countries. However the economy for these events should be managed very carefully as it might lead to crisis if not handled properly. With a huge sum in the pocket and big thoughts, several games are to be re-modeled.

THE SHOW WORLD

In all times, the only field that is not affected to the great extent is that of the cinema. Although the side artists and many technicians get affected, the main stars are not much affected. There were many theatres that were closed in the last few years and they gave rise to movie malls with better facilities and features. The income of each actor is increasing dramatically every film and so is the total budget of the film. Not only Hollywood but also some Indian movies are made at phenomenal expenses. With the increase in the corporate companies, many have tie ups with multiplexes and provide tickets to their employees.

Even with the leagues like IPL and so on creating a threat to the entertainment industry, it is not really bothered much as the revenue continues to flow in thanks to some corporate production houses. The demigods of Indian public are one of the richest people in the world and they mostly belong to the field of sports and cinema. Many actors and actress also earn by appearing in ads and this has now become a trend. Although the money involved in the entertainment field continues to go up the slope, many people still can’t afford expensive tickets and watch films at local theatres. These conditions should improve to meet the requirements of the middle class.
